Medical Simulator

TraumaVision is a virtual reality simulator designed medical use for simulating orthopedic trauma surgeries such as hip fractures and spinal surgery.

TraumaVision includes simulated views of the patient, simulated fluoroscopy, haptic feedback of instruments interacting with tissue and drilling into different bone layers and the system measures numerous performance metrics during a simulated surgery.

TraumaVision is under constant development to address market needs. As of today our training modules consists of the following indications:

A hip fracture simulator

Swemac hip fracture simulator training allows hip fracture fixation to be performed on a virtual hip model using two-dimensional flouroscopic images to guide fracture reduction and implant placement. We offer the following training modules within hip fracture treatment:

  • Cannulated Screws
  • Hansson Pin System
  • Dynaloc
  • Hansson Pinloc

Trochanteric Fracture

  • Dynamic Hip Screw
  • Twin Hook Locking Plate
  • Swemac Hip Plate with Hansson Twin Hook
  • Swemac Hip Plate with Lag Screw

Subtrochanteric Fracture

  • Medoff Sliding Plate with Hansson Twin Hook

Virtual-reality simulation to assess performance in hip fracture surgery

"Virtual-reality training could improve initial skills, and a simulation-based test would make it possible to ensure basic competency of junior surgeons before they proceed to supervised practice on patients."
